The official Star Wars page on Facebook just announced that the title of VIII will be "The Last Jedi"

He just went through a dark phase when his father, master yoda, was too occupied with jedi business. Now he is back to teach Luke and Rey the true ways of the force.

It will be interesting how they translate this in German, as "The last Jedi" is neutral in English. In German however it could refer to multiple Jedi (considering plural is not Jedis), a single last Jedi and that single last jedi could be either male (Luke) or female (Rey) or someone totally different.
